What is AIM?
Our Mission is to build a strong safe and supportive community for adults with disabilities while meeting needs, creating solutions and inspiring inclusion.
How we help:
- encourage growth
- enhance life experiences
- build friendships
- provide meaningful activities
- create real opportunities
- increase skill development
- foster purposeful community connections.
Adults in Motion participants often range in age between approx. 18-40 years. Participants enjoy friendships, music, movement, learning new skills, excursions and volunteering in the community. Participants must meet criteria described below.
High School Students
If you’re still a student you can attend Adults In Motion during all school holidays, including PD days. You could also be eligible for a special school placement through your school and participate at AIM! Contact us for information.
Our activities promote community leadership opportunities, inclusion and contributing to the community, which includes volunteerism!
Visit a location near you to learn about our accessibility standards and accommodations, including wheelchair access and safety.
Located carefully within communities, our programs have close access to shopping, recreation centers, schools and public transit.
Many locations include a sensory room designed for enjoyment with special lighting, music and objects that meet individual and group needs.
Space to move, exercise and play is an essential part of our days that’s why each location includes a gym, exercise room or dance studio on site.
Parks, adjacent green space, school playgrounds, walking trails or lakes can be found within walking distance of our program locations.
Full kitchens at every site include a sink, stove, fridge and appliances which are essential program features that meet health and safety standards.
Everyone has the right to feel accepted and understood, valued and purposeful. Come find your place of belonging and let your light shine.
Skill Building Experiences
Shhhh, it’s our little secret… but while we’re having all this fun, we’re really building new skills and finding new strengths within ourselves. With so many community based and in-program opportunities we find lots of creative ways to learn and grow.
