Caralee R

Manager of Programs & Services Cambridge

Caralee is a kind, compassionate, and dedicated individual who joins the Adults In Motion team with almost 20 years of experience in the recreation, social services, and education fields. Caralee has worked with all ages from preschool to seniors and is now excited to bring her knowledge of inclusive settings into the adult community.  She has her Recreation and Leisure Services Diploma from Conestoga College and then furthered her studies by completing her Early Childhood Education diploma from Stratford Career Institute. Caralee is passionate about the importance of recreation and community connections. She works hard to provide high-quality recreation programs that encourage, being active, learning new skills, and having fun!!
In her spare time, you can find Caralee baking, crafting, and reading with her three daughters, going on hikes with her dog Lennon, and enjoying all life has to offer! 
 

Megan R

Direct Support Professional Cambridge

Megan joined Adults in Motion with previous experience in the social work field. Megan is a kind, empathetic and open minded person who loves working within the community and has a passion for advocacy. She graduated from Kings University College at Western in 2023, with a double major of Disability Studies and Thanatology along with a certificate in Loss, Grief and Bereavement studies. Megan has worked in long term care and retirement settings. She also completed her school placement by co facilitating grief support groups for grieving children, youth and families. Throughout her youth and University Megan was a part of the Best Buddies Program where she further gained a passion for advocacy and assisting supported individuals in independence, building friendships and encouraging opportunities for experiences and social engagement within the community. Prior to joining our Adults in Motion team Megan was a Behavioural Support Worker for 2 years working with adults with disabilities in respite care homes, group homes and a day program. In her Behavioural Support Worker role she also worked with children with disabilities in social groups, a respite home and as an inclusion worker at a camp. In her spare time Megan enjoys being outdoors, going for walks and spending time with her friends and family. 

 

Brian D

Direct Support Professional Cambridge

Brian came to Adults in Motion with over 20 years of experience in the social work field. While attending University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with a Sociology Major, Brian also experienced living with a nephew that was born with special needs who was cared for in his family home. This experience led him to seek a caregiver role as weekend counsellor and relief staff member at KW Habilitation. After graduating he pursued his career at Elmira District for Community Living (EDCL) as a job coach, then moved onto their supported employment coordinator. To further his experience, he became a manager of an independent living home, assisted living home and respite services for EDCL. For the last fourteen years Brian has worked as a rehabilitation support worker for Bartimaeus Rehab assisting individuals who have suffered an Acquired Brain Injury. In this role Brian supported his clients by providing opportunities to return to some pre-accident recreation, education and community reintegration. While growing up Brian spent many summers as a camper, leader-in-training and later as a counsellor at Camp Tawingo. This, along with his work history has enabled Brian to see the importance of providing meaningful programs offering a social and fun experience for all.

Hamilton Team

Natalie W

Manager of Programs & Services Hamilton

Natalie came to Adults in Motion with a lifetime career and multiple degrees in the support services.  Natalie brought with her extensive experience in community volunteerism in various roles, a career of working leadership with youth and seniors and has been working with individuals with special needs since her early teens. She is also a Nutritionist and owns a working farm that operates educational day camps for youth. Natalie continues to volunteer her animal therapy and homesteading programs as “Farmer Natalie” to not only Adults in Motion but also long term care & senior centres as well as schools throughout her community. She has three teenage children that have Learning Disabilities and held a position on the Board of Directors for the Learning Disabilities Association of Hamilton Halton. Natalie has a passion for helping others and a joy for living everyday to its fullest. In her spare time she loves to cook and hike the Bruce Trail behind her farm, she’s also a craft-a-holic and shows dogs and pigs with her children.

Ryenn J

Direct Support Professional Hamilton

Ryenn is a very energetic and passionate Recreation Therapist! She credits her love for this field to her absolutely amazing older brother who happens to have ATR-16, a very unique intellectual disability. Ryenn says ‘He is such an amazing guy, my best friend and has made me very eager to advocate for all people with special needs and increase quality of life for all.’ 

Ryenn graduated from the Mohawk College Recreation Therapy program. She’s also worked in a group home for adults with disabilities and continues in a casual relief position.   
                                    
Ryenn says ‘I love to snuggle my dogs and spend time with my family and friends. I also love many sports but most specifically soccer and I have a love for fitness in general.’  

Chandler L

Direct Support Professional Hamilton

Chandler is an outgoing, enthusiastic, and caring person. She began pursuing her Recreation Therapy diploma at Mohawk college, and graduated in 2019. She was a developmental service worker for 3.5 years before joining our Adults in Motion team. In her spare time she loves hiking, walking her dog Lola, watching movies, and cooking! One of her favourite meals to cook is homemade chicken noodle soup.

Kitchener-Waterloo Team

Kelsey S

Manager of Programs & Services Kitchener

Kelsey joined the Adults in Motion team with over 9 years of experience in the recreation field. She has spent time as a camp leader, STEM camp coordinator, and community centre program coordinator. She has a Bachelors of Education from University of Regina and went on to teach in Leeds, UK before making the move to Ontario. It was when she moved to Ontario where she made the switch from classroom teaching to recreation. During her time in the field she has worked with a wide range of ages from children, youth, and adults. She has a passion for creating engaging programming and experiences for individuals within their own community. Outside of work, Kelsey can be found reading, painting, going on hikes, and spending time with her partner and their two cats. 

Nicole J

Direct Support Professional Kitchener

Nicole joined the Adults in Motion Team in 2021 with over 17 years of experience in the Recreation and Leisure field. She graduated from the Recreation and Leisure program at Conestoga College in 2007. Nicole has many years experience in Long Term Care as a Program Aide but has also worked on a Cruise Ship on the program team! Nicole loves working with people and is a social butterfly! She loves music, the outdoors, and enjoys traveling with her husband. Nicole has always had a passion to work with seniors and adults and continues to expand her horizons and work within a community that is ever-growing and changing. Making community connections and building from those relationships is important to Nicole and helps her advocate for the community that she supports. Nicole is proud to be part of the Adults in Motion Team and can’t wait to see what the future holds for all participants and their families!

Direct Support Professional Kitchener

Nicole is a compassionate, kind soul that enjoys working alongside people in the community. Nicole joined the Kitchener team with over 15 years experience working in Mental health.  She has worked in a number of group homes over the years and has experience working with many different personalities. With a strong focus to Mental health, developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis clients. Nicole helped run a youth program at a local community centre in the last two years, and has acquired many connections through volunteering. With her experience, Nicole has gained skills to create a fun safe environment in a recreational setting. Nicole has a drive for advocacy, she has a love for learning about others and their life stories. In her free time you can find Nicole chasing waterfalls, adventuring with her three beautiful children, sitting by a campfire, or watching a good Halloween movie.

Oakville Team

Shayna J

Manager of Programs & Services Oakville

Shayna excitedly joined Adults in Motion with her degree in Child and Youth Care from Humber college and her post-graduate in Brain Disorders Management from Mohawk College. With experience in afterschool programs, camp counselling and years in the hospitality industry, she has a passion for research, advocacy and support for individuals within the field of mental health, addictions and brain disorders. Shayna strives to approach every experience with a strengths-based, anti-racist, anti-oppresive, feminist framework ensuring each individual she supoorts with can truly be themselves. With personal interests in health, wellness, self-awareness and meditation, Shayna appreciates and encourages a well-balanced and rewarding lifestyle.

Jonathan K

Direct Support Professional Oakville

Jon is a compassionate, outgoing, and enthusiastic person with a degree in Outdoor Recreation from Lakehead University. Jon’s background in overnight camp programs has fostered a love for adventure. Even now, he loves being out in the wilderness whenever he can get a chance; a frequent canoe tripper who enjoys time spent with a paddle in his hand. Prior to joining Adults in Motion in 2024 Jon enjoyed 4 years of one to one work in the camping industry which fueled a passion for inclusionary experiences and creating character building moments through creative programming. Jon’s passionate about strong community connections and having a positive impact on everyone he meets! Jon is very excited to be part of our team for this adventure with Adults in Motion and to be part of the  warm and encouraging atmosphere here at our program!

Danielle D

Direct Support Professional Oakville

Danielle is an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated individual who is always happy to connect with and learn about others! Danielle began her studies in the social service field at Mohawk College, obtaining a Social Service Worker diploma in 2021 before continuing her studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in the Bachelor of Social Work program. In addition to working with individuals who have disabilities, Danielle has experience working with individuals experiencing addiction or mental health concerns and currently maintains a relief position at an emergency women’s shelter. Danielle believes in doing with, not for, and seeks to empower individuals by utilizing a strength-based approach in her practice. In her spare time, Danielle can be found listening to her favourite music or watching documentaries with her beloved cat, Stella.

Volunteers

No specific talent required, just a big heart and a little bit of time. Our in-person volunteers fill our member’s days with novelty, friendship and the feeling of community. Our virtual volunteers fill our screens with entertainment and laughter. Our behind the scenes volunteers impact all our operations. There’s a volunteer spot for all stages of life from co-op students, to retired seniors to everyone in between.
