Shelley Murphy
Executive Director & Co-founder
Shelley Murphy is the Executive Director and co-founder of Adults in Motion. She has spent decades in Ontario’s education and developmental services sectors, beginning her career in the school system and in direct support roles with people with developmental disabilities — including individuals living with dual diagnoses and complex behavioural needs. Together with Rodd Murphy she established and ran a specialized school for high-risk youth in foster care, and founded and operated residential mentoring homes for youth with high support needs for more than 15 years. In 2009 they founded Adults in Motion to meet the community’s need for high-quality, inclusive day programming for adults with developmental disabilities, which she leads today.
